One of the most common business challenges I hear daily from salon and spa owners around the world is MARKETING. They’re not sure where to start, how much to spend and what to put first in their marketing efforts.

Google is the world’s most popular search engine. It began as a research project in 1996 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who were two Ph. D. students at Stanford University. They developed a search engine algorithm that ranked web pages not just by content and keywords, but by how many other web pages linked to each page.
Some interesting facts about Google you might not know:
- In 2021, Google was the dominant search engine with a 91.94% market share
- Google has 2.5 Trillion searches per year worldwide
- The original name of Google was Backrub
- The Google homepage is available in 80 languages
- 33% of all searches on Google come from smartphones
- The name Google is derived from the term ‘googol’. A googol is a 1 with 100 zeroes behind it
