Interestingly, Adriana’s “mistake” was once again about STAFF.
 
So, I can say at this point, after interviewing 5 leading Global Spa Directors, that STAFF is a common challenge but also very much the lifeline of your business.
 
I would like to raise a few questions for self reflection before you listen to the  interview. Once you’ve read the questions and listened to the interview I’d like you to list where you believe you can change as a leader or manager in your business.  Sound good?
 

Here goes:

  • Do you offer an incentive scheme to really DRIVE your staff to earn more?
  • Do you personalize your incentive schemes to suit each individual or offer all staff the same?
  • Do you run an incentive scheme for the front desk and support staff in the spa?
  • Do you look for ways that your staff can earn more money whilst not compromising the business margins?
  • Do you get your brand partners involved in helping incentivize your staff?
